As credit unions continue to stand out, NC consumers are taking note! The NC Credit Union League offers a credit union locator service, called Find a Credit Union, on its web site. This site allows you to search for credit unions in your community that you may be eligible to join.

Credit unions are safe places to keep your money - they're locally based, run by people in your community, and every NC credit union is covered by the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF). The share insurance fund, which is administered by the National Credit Union Administration, covers credit union deposits to the same limits as the FDIC affords for bank customers. As a result, members have never lost a penny of their hard-earned money on deposit at a credit union!
